Nasty Women- Undeterred by Nasty Men~
Pops another Tylenol for the political headache as it is too early to graduate to a beer. But this is politics. None of us can stomach the watching Trump and his campaign manager vomit their smiles across tv, especially when they have done nothing but try to destroy the very virtue of truth telling and political integrity.
But I had this happen before. My grandmother was a gun wielding pathological liar, thief, a narcissist and an abuser. Unfortunately, I was the only one in my family that refused a relationship with her at the soonest age that I could. My mother on the other hand, was a very good woman.
One day when I was twenty-five my grandmother called me and said, ‘I saw your father.’ Uh no, he was dead. She was a liar, a pathological liar and it was known to everyone.
“No he is alive,” she said over the phone which I happened to answer. We didn’t have caller id in those days. I was twenty-three. I sat on it for about a year and then investigated the story on my own. I found a connection in an out of state county, back when one could investigate and verify information over the phone. I left my number for leads. One day a lady calls me, said she was my sister, that I was too late, he died six months ago.
The one person I expected the truth from, lied to me. The person I expected nothing but lies from, told me the truth basically on these two instances. Talk about confusing.
Truth is important regardless of whom it comes from. Lies are a form of control. We know politicians self protect. We know they lie because we know every human being on earth has lied. That is not an excuse for anything it is just a reality (if you have the integrity to measure a little white lie the same thing as a huge lie). Did Hillary lie about not knowing what C for classified meant? I think that is pretty obvious to anyone who deals with classified material. And I am sure she has lied about other things by virtue of being a politician and a human being.
Did Donald Trump tell the truth about Hillary? No. Donald rarely tells the truth about anything, this is well documented and open for public evaluation. There are many witnesses and people that have testified against Trump with what we know so far. Even Pence and his campaign manager have said he didn’t say something after it was publicly said. The public has these facts and the public can verify these facts that are already out there for themselves. Because of tight confidentiality documents in the Trump camp (read the admission of volunteers that signed their right away to EVER talk negative about Trump or his family for the rest of their life) because the Trump camp will sue anyone, even his own sexually harassed victims, the public only has what brave whistle blowers admit, and yet will be subject to lawsuit. Sexual harassment is also a criminal act, just like lying about not knowing what C means on a document.
The investigation with Hillary will bring out the facts. We have a justice system that is suppose to comply with the philosophy, innocent until proven guilty. Clinton has not been found guilty in a court of law, no matter what Donald or anyone else says. Trump has been proven guilty of constantly lying by former associates, by reporters, and by the public just on the little that was released about him.
Here is the point I really want to make. Trump and the GOP are not qualified, nor have been proven trustworthy enough to state what the facts are. The FBI will state the facts as they did before. A pathological liar and those who support him have not proven themselves to be anywhere near the truth, whether it is with – the email investigation or simple verifiable facts they actually have denied. This certainly is a rush for his supporters, but then again, his supporters have proven not to fact check things or care about a wide range of issues that came up in this campaign.
I’m very curious as to why Comey said what he said, exactly how he said it. The one thing that is a dead ringer for a reg flag is this- they do not know when the investigation will be concluded. This is the thing we should all worry about. The investigation with Weiner may have started in September and so it would be reasonable to assume that the timing is just a natural progression of the investigation itself. But here is the thing, he announced the investigation rather than just continuing investigating a case that was already open. Did you get that? The case was never officially closed, it was open although the investigation completed. The announcement, with a specific mention of not knowing when they can conclude with the facts on the case, is exactly what is not adding up. The investigation itself is not out of the ordinary here (even if it is 11 days from election) as it is a progression from another case. What is abnormal, well investigate where else Comey had to qualify investigating a case already open (even if completed) and two, where else he mentions that a timeline of facts cannot be construed for the public.
At least my grandma told the truth, once or twice. And as awful as she was, at least she didn’t paint herself savior and saint. But watching Trump and Republicans get political religion just in time to condemn before the facts (as usual) is putrid. This isn’t going to win all the Clinton supporters over to an abusive, pathological liar’s side. I’m still for Clinton until the facts prove otherwise. Trump has already proved he isn’t capable of truth, decency or respect.
Until the facts prove otherwise – if Comey can’t produce them before Nov 8th, he is liable to be investigated for corruption himself when the Trump and the GOP blame him either way for obscuring justice when Hillary wins, regardless of whether she is innocent or guilty. And this is exactly how Trump and GOP is playing the rigged card.
Cheer up, reality tv has never been better 😛
(NOTE- it is important to clarify between a closed FBI case and a completed investigation. Comey had completed the investigation finding no evidence of criminal conduct. Technically and according to Lawfare, Comey is not re-opening the original case as the case was never officially closed although it was completed. These terms have legal specific applications and implications and Comey’s letter specifically garners ambiguity, as was meant to be).
And we weren’t even paid!
Spent money on Tylenol, hot baths to relax and comfort foods! Dang, he already made me spend more money from my own pocket! Can Americans sue him for televised abuse and out of pocket expenses for mental health preventatives?
Almost over with!
I don’t watch Fox News. In fact I steer clear of a one-sided, media outlet. But I would publicly like to state that I really admire Megyn Kelly taking a stand against Trump, Republicans and powerful evangelical leaders that are minimizing and evading sexual assault issues against women. One can certainly understand what a difficult position she is in and empathize as her own party attacks her character for framing the issue of sexual assault- a REAL, moral, civil and spiritual issue.
You see, the people who call themselves Democrat, Republican, or Independent at some point have to ask the question, aren’t sexual assault issues a significant part of the abortion, divorce, healthcare, mental health, illegal immigration (fleeing countries where women have no protections), and economic issues?
Are not sexual assault issues a part of the longer, historical picture when once, little protections were afforded to women and children as legal property?
For whatever personal, conservative convictions Megyn Kelly has about all the issues, she is at least consistent with them here by standing up publicly on the topic of sexual assault. The head spin for me in all of this is that conservatives who fought for the last eight years against gay marriage (a consensual act between adults) now throw up their hands and defend a man who, himself, confessed to forcing himself on women in his position of power (and they are willing to give him the highest position in the US).
People like Megyn Kelly and Rachel Maddow are the real influencers, willing to look at the hard issues straight in the eye and refuse deflection. These are the people who make the difference and will continue making impact because they are forcing the honest discussions we need in our society. If only politicians, if all of us, stand up and force the conversation, even in an election year, even about a presidential candidate, even as an integrated moral, spiritual, political, and legal issue.
Trump once gave a despicable plea to the dying that before they go out, they should vote for him. Well, the Republican party and top evangelical influencers heeded the call.
Today on C-Span (Key Capitol Hearings) Gingrich said regarding overdose and homelessness (originally aired in June)
” If you overdose once it’s a sign that you’re truly stupid and we’ll give you a pass. But if you overdose twice at that point clearly you are out of control of your life and therefore we have an obligation as a society to help you get back into control of your life so you can go back to being free.”
“There are a significant amount of homeless people who are homeless because they want to be…”
Open Letter On This Campaign
Trying to start this letter is proving quite difficult. There are so many things I want to convey but sometimes with ADHD the words swirl like a cyclone within the current, political climate. In fact, this is the first time I’ve been this outspoken during any political campaign and while never intending my poetry site to be used as a political portal, I simply cannot in good conscience dismiss this campaign as ‘politics as usual’ and just merrily go off on my own, poetic trails.
As a sexual assault surviver, I know how women are being triggered by Trump’s campaign. As one who has struggled with disabilities, I know how insulting it is to be personally affronted by Trump just by turning on my tv. In fact, the simple act of listening to the radio, engaging on social media or trying to watch what is happening around the world on broadcast television becomes confronting. Political campaigns usually involve some sort of policy strategy brought forth by the candidates. However, the spaces in-between the debates are simply, moral degradation fillers feeding the masses. And even the debates are far from informative. Issues like as lgbt rights are strangely ignored which is quite odd since Pence is Trumps running mate. If most Evangelicals were not standing behind Trump to revoke gay marriage, abortion rights, and expand religious freedoms potentially revoking gay rights through his supreme court justice nominee picks… it might not be so odd. But the silence on these things is deafening.
I don’t claim to know exactly how everyone feels with what I can only describe as a loud circus circling the block over and over again. But I personally feel that I’m done with being affected by Trump’s ‘Look at Me, Look at Me…Me…Me…’ craziness any longer. What he says and does is sickening and I can only take so much before feeling sick. I’ve done my part and now I need myself, my sanity, control over world news again and casual, easygoing interactions back with exception to responding to what I have already posted here.
In other words, I know who I’m voting for and jumping off this crazy train. Mental and emotional health are important. It is unfortunate that these things can be affected by one who is running for the President of the United States. Those who have come out of cults understand the deeper dynamic going on. Those who have fought hard in the feminist movement for women’s rights understand the dynamics in this. Immigrants understand this on a level some of us will never comprehend. Sexual assault survivors see right through him. The disabled know it. Those bullied in school get it. The poor understand self centered personalities. Muslims get it. Mexicans are fully aware. If he could only look beyond himself maybe he would, someday, if ever. People talk about healing a nation and we need that on a bipartisan level. Unfortunately, Trump can’t blow off an insincere apology to everyone stated above and expect the country to heal. His divisive damage is done and it will take true leaders and the rest of us to tackle that feat.
I will miss Obama and Michelle. I have had major disagreements on some policy issues but as they say, you don’t know what you got until it’s gone. Having a polished, cool headed, sensitive, smart, caring (about diverse groups and issues) president means something in contrast to the loud mouth running now. And Michelle is wonderful person.
I will finish with this. I see nothing positive, hopeful, or healing is coming from this presidential election campaign and that is directly related to Trump’s campaign. Hillary has been the sane, mature, collected adult in all of this. But we do have a hopeful, positive and national healing ahead despite what is happening because we are Americans and many voices make up our voice. Some may disagree with me that it is now near impossible for Trump to win and that is okay because the reality is, it hasn’t happened yet. But whomever is elected president, we will ride it out if it is to our disliking. This isn’t the end of the world as we know it although there will be consequences as in any election. But I am done with the insanity and ‘the political crazies’ out there. Mental and emotional health are too important to waste it on him.
Without further ado, starting my political vacation and it’s already starting to feel like a wonderful tropical island. Here are some helpful online hints to deal with your own peaceful, tropical weather getaway ~

“The more you obsess, the harder and stronger the energy of the narcissist is in your mind and this takes over your entire life.
Stay away if you can, otherwise you will be victimized by them or, even worse, you will become one of them.
When I spoke to Stanford professor Bob Sutton, he told me his number one piece of advice to students was this:
“When you take a job take a long look at the people you’re going to be working
with—because the odds are you’re going to become like them, they are not
going to become like you.”
And if you spend more time with good people you will become, um, good-er.
Here’s Yale professor Nicholas Christakis:
We’ve shown that altruistic behavior ripples through networks and so does
meanness. Networks will magnify whatever they are seeded with. They will
magnify Ebola and fascism and unhappiness and violence, but also they
will magnify love and altruism and happiness and information.
Every chance you get, surround yourself with people who are good to you.
And be good to them.
Don’t fight narcissism. Starve it.

And an excellent article from someone I’ve read for years, Steve Hassan – Does Trump Display the Stereotypical Profile of a Cult Leader
I want every abusive man to feel the public disgrace the shame of exposure the powerlessness of power riches and fame for trying to destroy what God has made sacred for life's entrance and blessed beautiful for lovers yet culture still mocks poverty our beautiful and sacred entrance into life by wealth and status, men mere cowards making the innocent carry their own shame I want every good man to speak the culture of accountability and restore dignity to our nation empowering vocal courage in men, women and children when once, oh beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife our politics now avail a disgraceful silence © 2016 Tammy Mezera
It is, without any doubt, a disgrace that Donald Trump is the Republican nominee for president. Among many other reasons, no nominee in America’s history has shown so much blatant contempt for women and minorities. The released audio/video and numerous other incidents reveal a profoundly narcissistic and debased man who takes joy in using his position of power to commit sexual assault, to objectify and degrade women, and to attack and intimidate those who resist. Through words and actions spanning decades, he has proven that he sees women primarily as objects to serve at his pleasure. Trump’s defense that his comments in the video were “locker room talk” is insulting. Such comments are debased, but perhaps remotely excusable for an immature teenager trying to impress his friends. Trump was 59 years old at the time.
If Trump’s primary business is that of real estate developer, why would he be interested…

Que como frutas podridas,
Se sienten perdidas,
Llevan vidas en desdicha;
Moreteadas y llenas de mosquitas,
¿Por qué no las quieren?
Ellas también sienten,
A ellas también les duelen
los desplantes y las despedidas.

A Trigger Warning is no different from a RATING
A Trigger Warning is NOT content censorship – it is a WARNING. Period. It allows for the use of coping strategies by those students who need them.
It is absolutely insane to put forth some black and white argument expressing fear that supporting its use in ANY circumstance will facilitate its application to all situations where some student might take offense.
- Few thinking individuals are up in arms about impinging on the rights of people who want to watch certain types of films simply because they are rated X to guide those who do not.
- Rational people do not insist that the ban on guns in schools be lifted, holding…

Lately he had admitted to feeling almost excited at the thought of company. But he also knew that with each encounter came a curious sort of emotional hangover which had become harder and harder to shift”
A feeling I’m sure most of us know. Great Post Jac!
The island was exactly 50 paces across. Not so strange in itself, exceptthat it didn’t seem to matter which direction Seth went in or what size steps he used, the land always ran out on that 50th step.
Hewriggled his toes in the clear water and looked up at the sky. It was almost noon and time for the weekly food drop off. Lately he had admitted to feeling almost excited at the thought of company. But he also knewthat with eachencounter camea curious sort of emotional hangover whichhad become harderand harder to shift.
‘Sentenced to solitary confinement for heinous and unforgivable crimes,’ Seth winked, ‘I mean, come on you have to admit it has a nice ring to it.’There was no one around to agree with him, but he laughed anyway. He’d found that talking to the empty sea made more sense than talking to himself. What he…

It seemed like everybody had to comment. These people just did it better than the rest. By now all the people who want to — and probably a lot who never wanted to — have seen the video of Donald Trump talking to Access Hollywood co-host Billy Bush in 2005, apparently without realizing he was being recorded. […]
And he already said it like it is. Trump has lost and hopefully he will go and lick his wounds in a private corner without having the rest of us suffer him any longer after the race. What no one has stated about the debate yet was the intense, emotional control Hillary had to have just to be in the same room with this man and his supporters.
You know, I thought we’d come so far as a nation with sexual assault issues and respect for women. The very act of Trump having those four women at the debate and them willingly standing with a man who has admitted on tape to taking advantage of women while in a power position is daunting. What woman stating she was sexually assaulted would so easily side with a man who objectifies, insults and uses his position of power to look on naked women and sexually grab them?
This is the real issue, among many. This isn’t locker room talk – it is sexual predator talk. This isn’t just about American women, it is about women across the world. Are we going to go back one hundred years where women are property and men dominate and minimize the justice system on rape and sexual assault issues?
The constitution did not automatically give equal rights and value all voices. For every minority group, there was and still is, a generational fight to be rightfully acknowledged within the ‘all men created equal’ concept.
As I stated before, Trump lost my respect when he uses his position and public platform to degrade the dignity of life for all men. Evangelicals who vote for him based on who he will appoint as supreme court justices are once again ignoring the dignity of life for all men and women as equals. I always had respect for differences of opinion but the hypocrisy on these issues usually get in the way.
I am disgusted with Trump and his supporters who want to make this a NON ISSUE when it is. And I refuse to go back and tear down the progress we as a nation made for womens rights. And you wonder why Trump refused to answer the humanitarian questions in the debate.
Jail Hillary? Are you serious? As someone already said, Trump acted like he was in a third world political system. Trump is a dictator who has no respect for anyone. If I were a man I would have cringed when he said, ‘No one respects women more than I do.’ If that were true, we wouldn’t be having this conversation across the nation. He simply lives in his own world obviously as some of his supporters do. I mean, this is what was so great about Trump right, that he speaks his mind and that he is honest right? Except that he’s not and his supporters can’t even acknowledge a truth outside of what Trump says is truth.
Sexual assault is the issue, among many here. You don’t get to erase or deny that fact just because… Trump is a predator. Words to hate me by, but hey, living outside the bubble is nice.
YES! Celebrating with Debasis, our very talented poet 🙂

You can read the piece here: Point of no return
Plastered teddy bear, lifeless buddy,
you’re staring into space.
It’s like you were sitting patiently,
but what are you waiting for?
Sometimes Fate is unfair:
it leaves old friends all alone
and can suddenly wipe the smile off
a little boy’s face.
O sweet companion, forgotten friend,
your foam filled soul resembles mine!
Yesterday no one saw your tears,
but God knows that you were cold
when the sun went down over the sea
and the first stars in the darkening sky
silently began to align,
then died of grief!

Yesterday The New York Timesbroke a fascinating story, actual tax returns signed by Trump and Maples having been mailed to a reporter– that in 1996 Donald Trump, Republican Nominee for President of the United States, reported a loss of nearly 1 billion dollars to the Internal Revenue Service. The implications: under various IRS regulations presumably put in place for honest people who undergo catastrophic business failure, TRUMP IS LIKELY TO HAVE BEEN PUT IN THE TAX BRACKET OF SOMEONE WHO DIDN’T HAVE TO PAY ANY FEDERAL TAXES FOR TWENTY YEARS.
So it is that we now have a bright, shiny gold-leaf key to the failure of this idiot to release his tax returns. So it is that the tormented, mostly insane and inane saga of the Trump Candidacy takes another downward turn that should knock him out of the running– provided, of course, that any members of the…

Guerrilla Girls: Is It Even Worse in Europe?
at Whitechapel Gallery
Until 5th March 2017
When the Guerrilla Girls first started to stir things up in New York back in the 1980s, confronting the establishment on the underrepresentation of women artists in museums, they probably themselves assumed, or at least hoped, they would not still have to be making the same points some 30+ years later.
But here they are. Again.
In this new exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery, Is It Even Worse in Europe?, the Guerrilla Girls ask some awkward questions of Europe’s most illustrious contemporary art institutions and get some interesting, albeit sometimes depressing, answers.
The Guerrilla Girls are an anonymous group of feminist artist-activists who go by the names of famous women artists of the past – for the opening of this new show at the Whitechapel Gallery, ‘Frida Kahlo’ and ‘Kathe Kollwitz’ were in attendance – the group members preserve…
